Hey friends — pulling you into the chaos with me today because it's been one heck of a week. Welcome back to A Writer's Daily Grind, where the chaos is real, the coffee is absolutely non-negotiable, and the plot twists never wait their turn. Today, we're following up on the motherhood post from a few days back.

Lately, the weather here has been throwing its own tantrums — thunder rolling in like it’s got something to prove — and honestly, it feels fitting. The sky’s been mirroring my life a little too well: loud, unpredictable, and refusing to settle down.

First of all, let me state — for the record — all emergency personnel are awesome. Truly. Y'all deal with things most people couldn't handle for five minutes, and I appreciate the work you do. That being said, as most of you know, a trip to the emergency room is rarely a quick in- and-out situation. We were there for 5+ hours, listening to the storm outside rumble like it was adding its own commentary to the chaos.

My son is home with me for the rest of this week while he’s trying to deal with this kidney stone… that isn’t a kidney stone? According to the ER, apparently a “stomach bug” can be misrepresented on an X‑ray and show up as a kidney stone. Something about that just doesn’t sound kosher to me. So today, I’ll be getting another opinion. A child with a high tolerance for pain doesn’t suddenly become unable to walk, nauseated, dizzy, and pale for no reason. A Mama knows her kid — the same way you can tell when a storm is more than just a little rain on the radar.

While I deal with those issues in the coming days, I’ll keep y’all updated. However — when it rains, it pours. And lately, it feels like the clouds have decided to set up permanent residence over my house. We just found out that my middle son is having medical issues as well, which we won’t discuss much. Suffice it to say he may have to have a cyst removed from his tailbone, and we’ll leave it at that. Talk about craziness. The situation itself and the timing are ridiculous. It’s like life decided to throw a lightning bolt right after the thunder. I’m stressing about how everything is going to turn out, but I’ve discovered that working through these things while talking to y’all here actually helps ease the anxiety… at least a little. Sometimes sharing the storm makes it feel a little less doom and gloom.

Additionally, I have finally finished — yes, 100% completely written, edited, and proofread — book 3 of my Warriors of Anaa series. (Five hours in an ER gives you time to write if nothing else.) Maybe that’s the one good thing about storms: they force you to sit still long enough to get something done. Now we’re just waiting on my hubby to finish the artwork for the cover, and then it’ll be out for you guys to enjoy soon! I’m excited to hear how y’all vibe with the new characters — whether you adore them, side‑eye them, or lovingly yell at them like they’re real people making questionable choices. I’ll drop a little sneak peek in the coming days — stay tuned.

Until next time, celebrate those ink‑stained fingers and keep turning the pages… storms pass, stories stay, and knowledge is power.

Much Love,

Happy Lwife
