If you’re anything like me, your personal library isn’t just a collection of books – it’s a living archive of your curiosity, your comfort reads, your obsessions, and the stories that shaped you. I’ve wanted my own home library for as long as I can remember. Even before I started school, I was the kid with a book in hand, wandering through stories long before I understood how much they would shape me.
Over the years, my shelves have grown in ways that are both magical and occasionally chaotic. But they’ve never been “just dusty old books on a shelf.” Every single one is a piece of my journey – a reminder of who I was when I first opened it, who I became because of it, and the worlds that helped me grow along the way. And living here in Florida, where sunshine and hurricanes dance like old friends, I’ve learned the hard truth that insurance companies can be less than enthusiastic about honoring claims unless you have a clear, practical, and up‑to‑date inventory. That reality became one of my biggest motivations for creating this book. I wanted something that would protect not just the monetary value of my collection, but the emotional value too.
That’s why I created My Book of Books: A Personal Library Inventory – a practical, tactile tool for readers who want to bring a little more intention, joy, and organization to their reading lives. This isn’t an app, a spreadsheet, or another digital tracker you’ll forget to open. It’s a physical companion you can hold, flip through, scribble in, and make your own – a place where your reading life becomes something you can see and touch.
I wanted something simple, flexible, beautifully practical, and personal – something that grows with you rather than something you have to keep up with. Most of all, I wanted a way for readers to reconnect with the pleasure of their own libraries, not just the books they plan to read someday, but the ones they’ve loved, the ones they’ve loaned out, the ones they’ve hunted for, and the ones that have stayed with them.
Inside this book, you’ll find dedicated space to record up to 300 individual titles, with room to capture the details that matter most: the ISBN, the series title and number, the purchase date and price, the author and illustrator, the format and edition, and even whether the book was autographed. Each entry offers generous space for all the little details that make a book yours, helping you create a clear, meaningful record of your personal library.
This book is for anyone who loves the feel of pen on paper, for collectors who want a reliable record of their shelves, for book‑club members who want to track their collections, and for readers who want a more intentional relationship with the stories they bring into their lives. If you’ve ever wished your reading life felt a little more grounded, a little more organized, or a little more yours, this was made with you in mind.
Creating this book was a labor of love – a blend of my lifelong passion for reading, my appreciation for practical tools, and my desire to make something that genuinely helps people. I wanted it to feel like a companion, not a chore, something that invites you to slow down, reflect, and enjoy the books you bring into your life. And now that the paperback is fully reviewed and ready, I’m thrilled to finally share it with you.
My Book of Books: A Personal Library Inventory is available now in paperback on Amazon – polished, proofed, and ready for your shelves. Thank you for being part of this community, for reading my work, for supporting my projects, and for sharing your own love of books with me. I hope this little tool brings you as much joy and clarity as it brought me while creating it. Here’s to the stories we keep, the ones we discover, and the ones we return to again and again.
Peace & Blessings,
Happy Lwife
